George H. Seely, 87, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, in Beavercreek, Ohio. He was raised by Charles B. Seely and Virgina I. Seely (Head).
He graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1955. He was in ROTC at Penn State and graduated with a BS in aeronautical engineering in 1959.
George spent three years in the Air Force and received a MS in engineering management at University of Dayton.
In 1983, George married the love of his life, Sylvia. They enjoyed international travel and visiting local nature parks.
He worked proudly at the Air Propulsion Lab at Wright Patterson AFB when he retired in 1992.
George enjoyed watching sports, observing nature and taking daily walks around his neighborhood, accumulating over 12,500 miles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia; parents, Charles and Virginia; and siblings: Chick, Larry, Pat and John.
George is survived by his stepsons, Thomas Wills of Cincinnati and Scott Wills (Lisa) of Columbus; niece, Elisa McCarthy (William); nephew, John Seely (Juanita); and six great-nephews.
