Gary Daniel Wyland

Gary Daniel Wyland, 81, of Roaring Spring, peacefully passed away Wednesday. He was born in Altoona, the son of Arthur A. and Ethel P. (Woomer) Wyland.

Gary is survived by his special friend, Carol Hammel; his daughters: Lori (Nick) Stollar of East Berlin, Kerri Stern of Harrisburg and Angie (Travis) Russell of Roaring Spring; grandchildren: Abby, Katie, Nathan, Adam, Leah, Abe, Charli and Graci; great-grandsons, Luka and Graham; and his sisters: Janie (Don) Myers, Tick Wyland, Sally (Jim) Eicher and Polly (Dale) Hoover.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Biddle; and brothers: Ken, Ted and Jackie Wyland.

Gary was a 1962 graduate of Central High School. He retired from Appleton Papers in 2000 after 36 years and owned Gary D. Wyland Construction.

He attended Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church in Hollidaysburg.

Gary loved attending Central High School sporting events and cheering for the Scarlet Dragons. He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and attending spring training. Many hours were spent on building and remodeling projects. His favorite place was the Ponderosa, where he treasured spending time with his family.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church. A celebration of Gary's life will immediately follow at the church, with Pastors Ken Beichler and Larry Weaver officiating. Interment at Leamersville Riverview Cemetery.
