Donald B. Miller

April 1, 1942 – March 25, 2025

Donald B. Miller, 82, of Duncansville, passed away Tuesday after an accident. He was born at home in Bakers Summit, son of the late D. Bruce and Lusetta (Allison) Miller.

He married Sarah Young in 1965.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years; two daughters: Elizabeth Saylor and husband, Bryan, and Catharine Miller; three grandchildren: Natalie, Aaron and Sarah; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Layla; two sisters, Donna Helsel and Doris Miller; a brother, Kenneth; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two nephews, David and Jeff Helsel.

Donald graduated from the last class of Roaring Spring High School in 1960. He served in the 1st Infantry of the U.S. Army and fought in Vietnam.

He worked as a carpenter in the Local Union 900 and retired as a project manager from Hayes Large Architect.

He was a former member of Holsinger Brethren Church and was a member of Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he attended many years of Sunday school.

Donald was part of the Blair County Historical Society, Blair County Genealogical Society, the NRA, Chimrock Squares, served on the Occupational Advisory Committee and was an evaluator for NOCTI.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their musical concerts. He also enjoyed his pets, Ginger and Stormy, spending time at the library and walking.

Friends will be received from noon to 2 and 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Private interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
