Barbara Kay Taylor, 77, of Tyrone, passed away peacefully on Monday, surrounded by her family. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles E. and Ethel L. (Patterson) Kirkpatrick.
On Nov. 12, 1977, in their home, she married Richard Taylor, her husband of 47½ years, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Michele (Ron) Miller and Wendy Middleton; two grandchildren, Ian and Christian Imler; and two sisters, Ethel Mae Wolfe and Darlene Anderson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles L. and Robert E. Kirkpatrick.
Barb was a 1965 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She worked at Big Yank, and later as a coffee hostess at Sheetz, before retiring in 2020.
She enjoyed playing different card games with Crockett, Sue, Steve and Ann, as well as playing solitaire and doing jigsaw puzzles. Most of all she loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with them.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, March 7, 2025, at the funeral home, with Pastors Buddy Baird and Carl Schmidt officiating. Interment will be made following the service at Blair Memorial Park.
