Alice M. Burd, 96, of Altoona, died Saturday afternoon at The Villages at Midtown Oaks, Altoona. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Grover C. and Mildred V. (Couch) Cramer.
Surviving are four sons: William A. (Cindy), Tracy D. and Dennis E. Sr. (Pam), all of Altoona, and Arthur S. of Hollidaysburg; four daughters: Penny J. Lantz of Altoona, Barbara K. (Buddy) Stroup of Flinton, Irene R. (Floyd) Focht-Smith of Bellwood and Patricia A. (Tracy) Lauderdale of Troy, Ill.; 39 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, George of Martinsburg; a sister, Wava Weaver of Altoona; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald and Joseph; a daughter, Beverly J. McIntire; four grandchildren: Brian McIntire, Roy Yohn, Beverly K. Yohn and Chris Cotter; a great-grandson, Joey Middaugh; and siblings: Grover C. Cramer Jr., Lee Cramer and Betty Mountain.
Alice retired as a fiscal clerk at Blair Senior Services.
She enjoyed bowling, fishing, sports, crocheting and doing puzzles. She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State Nittany Lions and Bellwood-Antis Blue Devil football.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Zitterbart officiating. Interment will be held at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
The family suggests that contributions in Alice's memory be made to Blair Senior Services; Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, Altoona; or Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, Hollidaysburg.
