Monte B. Smith

He married Kim A. Kiesewetter on July 25, 1998.

Monte is survived by his loving wife of 26 years; his children: son, Hunter W. Smith and daughter, Madison B. Smith, both at home; and daughter, Mickie R. Smith (fiance, Austin) in Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold W. Smith.

Monte was a 1980 graduate of Central High School and a 1984 graduate of Shippensburg University, where he played baseball.

He retired after 33 years of service with the Everett Area School District, where he coached baseball, basketball and football. After his retirement, Monte worked at Courtesy Dodge in the service department.

Monte played baseball for the Altoona City League, and coached Spring Cove Little League Baseball, Spring Cove Middle School Baseball, Flood City Baseball and Spring Cove Youth Football.

He enjoyed hunting and loved his dogs, especially Abby, Nike and J.J.

Above all, he loved his wife and his children.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 704 Patrick Lane, Newry, with Father Allen P. Zeth, celebrant. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
