Michael E. Murphy, 60, of Altoona passed away Thursday at his residence. He was born in Washington, D.C., son of the late Joseph and Helen (Shaffer) Murphy. He married Regina Albright in 1995.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years; a son, Nathan of Altoona; a sister, Joan Wagner (Keith) of Latrobe; a brother, Joe of Altoona; 6 nieces: Amanda, Justine, Bailey, Brandi, Avery and Colbie; and seven nephews: Tyler, Matthew, Nicholas, Matt, Connor, Blake and Kayden.
Mike graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1982 and the Travel Academy in Orlando, Fla., in 1987. He retired as a sales representative from Atlantic Broadband after 27 years of service.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Altoona.
Mike enjoyed watching and playing sports, being outdoors, coaching his son's sports and traveling to Florida. He loved music, especially the Beatles.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at Sorge Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. Hollidaysburg, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. with Fr. John Lynam officiating. Private Committal at McIntyre Cemetery.
