James L. Morris Sr.

He is survived by children: Shavet L. Lamont of Altoona, Kimberly D. Morris of Germantown, James L. Morris Jr.

(Stephanie) of Altoona, Jason L. Morris (Kelly) of Altoona and Christopher S. Morris (Tori) of State College; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings: Victoria McCall-Miller (Curtis) of Altoona, Douglas Johnson (Paula) of Altoona, Christopher Johnson, Marc Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Lolita Brace (Thomas), Lisa Johnson and Leslie Stewart; special nephews, Timothy McCall and Dante Green; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Johnson.

James was a 1969 graduate of Altoona Area High School and retired as receiving supervisor for HH Shoe Co.

He was a member of the Arandale Elks Lodge 184 and was an avid LA Lakers fan.

James spent many years as a basketball coach in the Altoona Area School District.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
