Hite

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Earl Gorman "Junnie" Hite, 89, of Carson Valley, on Wednesday. Earl's final days were spent in his home, passing peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.

A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and dear friend, Earl's life was a testament to love, service and dedication.

Earl was blessed to share 67 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Gail Cassarly. He was born in Altoona and raised in Newry, where he built the foundation of a life filled with hard work and unwavering faith.

A proud veteran, Earl honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1950-53, achieving the rank of Corporal. His commitment to service continued throughout his life as a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus and a faithful parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Hollidaysburg.

Earl's talents and perseverance shone in many aspects of his life. A decorated Senior Olympian, he embodied determination and passion, inspiring those around him. His professional journey included dedicated service at Penelec First Energy and JC Blair Hospital, where he left a lasting impact through his strong work ethic and kindness.

Above all, Earl's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by four children and their spouses: Beth Caber, Teresa Mikulecky, Michael Hite and Christopher Hite, who were his biggest supporters. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Ryan Caber, Shaun Caber, Justin Caber, Emma Mikulecky, Christian Mikulecky, Rachel Hite, Eric Hite, Stas Hite-Polansky and Miro Hite-Polansky, who adored and admired their grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl S. and Theresa (Maher) Hite; and his brother, John R. Hite.

Earl's life was one of faith, integrity and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Friends will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. memorial service Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville. Father Justin Treon will officiate. Interment will take place at New St. Mary's Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Mary's Church, 312 Clark St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
