William W. ‘Bill’ Bretz

William W. “Bill” Bretz, 77, Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday evening at the Veterans Hospital, Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Harold and Daisy (Link) Bretz.

On Feb. 14, 1967, he married Linda L. Wentz at Zion Lutheran Church in Hollidaysburg.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Kelli J. Keller (Christopher) of Tyrone and Brenda S. Bretz of Hollidaysburg; four grandchildren: Tyler and Brady Shaw, Jordan Keller and Alexander Bretz; five great-grandchildren: Kamerynn Singer and Joe, Dakota, Kenzie and Emma Shaw; and a sister, Harolyn Zaldumbide (Rene) of Lewiston, Maine.

Bill was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam.

From 1977 to 2004, he was a machinist at SKF USA Inc., had his own painting and maintenance business and was a co-custodian at First Presbyterian Church in Hollidaysburg.

He was a member of Hollidaysburg American Legion and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and woodworking.

At Bill’s request, there will be no visitation or services.

Interment will be at Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.

Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.
