March 24, 1950 – Dec. 13, 2024

Cherry

Terrance L. Cherry, 74, of Pleasant Gap, passed away Friday at his home. He was born in Altoona to Earl Kaspick and Evelyn R. Cherry.

If you drive past his house, you will immediately know that he was someone special: Artistic, inventive, joyous and wonderful… Sad clowns, David Bowie, a penchant for Busch Light, prone to pay sensual compliments to food at Thanksgiving dinner tables, ever affording of sincere advice and unvarnished opinions, self-taught keyboard player with an exceptional voice and gardener extraordinaire.

Terry retired from the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology, where he worked as the head custodian.

He is survived by a nephew, Michael Mingle of Tyrone; and his friends who loved him so: Shirley Dunlap of Milesburg, Joe McMullen of Tipton, Natalie Kurtz of Tyrone, Theresa Rudy of Sandy Ridge and Jerry and Denise Crispell of Tyrone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Kirby.

The world will be a duller place with his absence, but he will live on in those who knew him best.

Honoring Terry’s wishes, there will be no public services.
