Maxine G. Cover

Maxine was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Joseph and Lavina (Mort) Nemic. On Jan. 2, 1952, she married Harry Wayne Cover in Cumberland, Md. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1989.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary (John) Marin and Carol (Dave) Books; two sons, Glenn (Diane) Cover and Joe (Joy) Cover; a daughter-in-law, Faye Cover; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Cover; and a nephew, Bert Green, whom she raised.

She was employed in the housekeeping department at Bon Secours Hospital, Altoona. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and was a past president of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Maxine enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She loved sitting in the sun and swimming. She mostly loved spending time with family.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Dec. 30, 2024, at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Eighth Avenue and 11th Street, Father Frank Scornaienchi, celebrant. Private interment will be held at Blair Memorial Park, Altoona.
