Helen Winifred Miller, 94, of Landis Home in Lititz, died Nov. 24, 2024, at the retirement community. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Orville and Martha Stuckey Miller.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanne Miller and Sara Steele.
Helen was a 1948 graduate of Altoona Senior High School, a 1951 graduate of Altoona Hospital School of Nursing and a 1955 graduate of Wheaton College.
She was a charter member of Altoona Bible Church and belonged to the Harmony Sunday school class.
Miss Miller retired in 1997 after 41 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators. She and her sister, the late Jeanne Miller, translated the New Testament for the Mamanwa people of the southern Philippines. They also helped them with their literacy and medical needs.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, at West Bethany Chapel, Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz.
