Loretta Carr

Surviving are two daughters, Jamie Butler and Timmie Brown (Karl); a son, David Thomas (Kirsten); three grandchildren: Darius Brown, Jaden Brown and Taylor Thomas. She is also survived by her siblings: Pastor Cleo Carr, Jacqueline Lightfoot, Rodney Howling, Brenda Howling, Deborah Coleman, Sylvia Carr, Charlene Carr and Stanley Carr Jr.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, twin sister, Rosetta “Rosie” Carr, and Audrey Carr; and a brother, Eugene Brawley.

Loretta was a 1963 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a certified nursing assistant from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

Loretta was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Altoona, where she served as a missionary and enjoyed Sunday fellowship. She also loved volunteering at the Shriner’s circus, traveling and most of all, spending time with her loving family, friends and late dog, “Pebbles.”

Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona, and from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 Fifth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at noon by Pastor Keith Moore. Interment will be held at Alto Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
