Bonnie M. Gordon, 81, of New Providence, formerly of Eden, passed away at home on July 9, 2024, following a short battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of the late Ronald B. Gordon, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2022.
Born in Dudley, Huntingdon County, Bonnie was a daughter of the late Norman R. and Mary E. (Detwiler) Heath.
After marriage, she spent several years caring for her home and family. Over the years, she was employed by Andy's Catering, Good-Kruger Dolls and Sight and Sound Theatres.
Bonnie enjoyed reading books, cooking and baking in her spare time.
She attended the Worship Center.
Surviving are her children: David (Hazel) Gordon of Columbia; Jill (Jim) Glessner of Bonita Springs, Fla.; Rodney (Dorretta) Gordon of Abbottstown; Susan (Jay) Zimmerman of Lancaster; and Lisa (Dale) Gregg of Leola; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The oldest of nine, she is survived by two brothers and five sisters.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother.
The Gordon family extends their sincere thanks to Compassus Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Bonnie over the last four weeks.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at Grandview Cemetery, followed by a meal at the Saxton Legion at 3 p.m.
