Eugene F. "Archie" Keller, 94, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Sunday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Elvin and Gladys G. (Creamer) Keller.
Eugene married Mary Lou Luther on Aug. 11, 1956. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2017.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Archie was preceded in death by his brother, E. Dwayne Keller.
He was a graduate of Altoona High School and served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Archie went on to graduate from the University of Findlay-Ohio and retired in 1990 as a schoolteacher from the Spring Cove School District after 32 years of service.
Archie was a lifetime member of Fourth Street Church of God, where he was elected as a life elder in 1996 and was very active within the church.
He loved roller skating and went on to win many regional titles and even a national title. Archie enjoyed baseball and had lettered while in college. He then coached later on.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Matthew Hornberger. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
