Joseph J. Grassi, 48, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday after a brief illness. He was born in Altoona, son of Joan (Davidson) and the late Joseph Sr.
Surviving are a daughter, Sofia; four sons: Joseph III, Rocco, Ivan and Steel, all of Hollidaysburg; his mother of Hollidaysburg; three sisters: Georgette, Liza and Joan; aunts: Anita and Suzi (Tony); nieces and nephews: Natalia, Norah, Jacob, Joshua, Vincenzo, Jack, Sam, Dominic, Sullivan, Alek and Ben; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Guy and Joan Luciano; and his aunt, Bobbi Murray.
Joe graduated from Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School in 1994 and earned a BS in Criminal Justice from Juniata College.
He was proprietor of The Ultimate Sub Co. and was the Hoagie King of Hollidaysburg.
Joe was a member of St. Michael Church, Hollidaysburg.
He lived for his children, family and friends.
Joe loved playing softball, shooting guns, playing golf, and riding motorcycles.
As a business owner, he was very active in the community by donating his time and services to fundraising events.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg; and from Noon to 2 and 4 to 6 p.m. Friday July 19, 2024, where a Vigil service will be held at the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at St. Michael Church, Hollidaysburg. Committal at Calvary Cemetery.
