Janice E. Ruggles, 78, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at home after a five-year battle with non small cell lung cancer and COPD. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Cyril D. Long and Arlene E. (Gates) Long-Civils.
She married Jeffrey P. Ruggles on July 2, 1992, in Winchester, Va.
Surviving is her husband, Jeffrey; a son, Matthew Picano (Kimberly); two stepdaughters, Andrea Walker and Jessica Ramish (Richard); two brothers, Terry Long and Kevin Long; and two sisters, Gaila Koval and Mary Fornwalt (Jay).
She was preceded in death by two brothers, R. Craig Long and H. Kent Long; and her first husband, Richard Picaro.
Janice was a 1964 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She enjoyed both interior and exterior decorating, flower gardening and music.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Monday, June 24, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville. Pastor Michael Blackie will officiate. Interment will take place at Alto-Reste Park.
