Marilyn Ann Frye, 44, passed away Friday at Suncoast Hospice, Palm Harbor, Fla. She was born in Johnstown, the daughter of Dale G. Frye of Hollidaysburg and Margueriete L. “Peggy” (Norris) Frye of Pittsburgh.
Surviving are her parents; a sister, Meg (Frye) Helsel and fiance, Matthew Bracken, of Fox Chapel; brothers, Caden and Daniel Frye of Hollidaysburg; a special friend, Kale Kritch of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; nephews: Brody, Austin and Brendan Helsel; and furry friend, Sakora.
Marilyn graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School in 1998 and Clarion University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
After graduation, Marilyn moved to the “Sunshine” state where she worked 19 years as an outstanding elementary school teacher.
She was an avid advocate for animals, having volunteered as a Docent at the Lowry Zoo in Tampa, and rescued many animals.
Marilyn can be honored by showing kindness to your favorite animal.
A private funeral service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
