Michael E. Dillon

Michael E. Dillon, 77, Altoona, passed away Thursday at Cedarwood Rehabilitation Center in Tyrone, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late George and Lola Dillon. On July 11, 1980, he married Scarlett (Weyandt) in Hagerstown, Md. They were married for over 43 years.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Brian Dillon and his wife, Amanda, and Brandon Dillon and his wife, Jennifer; and twin grandsons, Jake and Jayden Dillon, all of Altoona. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Audrey Weyandt, whom he took good care of and treated as if she were his own mother.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jean Black and her husband, Charles.

Mike was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired from Small Tubes Products in 2008 and continued to be a bus driver for the Altoona Area School District until May 2023. He was a member of South Altoona Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Mike enjoyed going to car shows, taking his grandkids for ice cream and his summer vacations at Daytona Beach. He loved animals, and he was always willing to take in a stray and take care of it until he could find it a good home.

At Mike's request, there will be no services.
