June D. Walker, 88, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday at the Village at Morrisons Cove. She was born in Chapel Hill, N.C., daughter of the late Hobert and Flossie Walker.
Surviving are a daughter, Deidra J. Rumble; a son, Geoffrey N. Rumble (Sandra); two grandchildren, Chad Rumble (Emely) and Shannel Sams (Christopher); four great-grandchildren: Elai Sams, Chaz Rumble, Quest Rumble and Micah Sams; and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Mayfield and Panthia Walker; four brothers: Horace Walker, Alvester Walker, Irving Walker and Howard Walker. She was the youngest of seven.
June graduated from Chapel Hill High School and was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church, where she sang in the choir.
June loved God, music and singing. She loved and encouraged others, as she considered everyone a friend. Cooking was her favorite pastime.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
