Robert Miller Dougal, 68, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Harry R. and Hilda M. (Barley) Dougal. He was united in marriage to
the former Connie (Stiffler) Dougal.
Along with his wife, he is survived by stepchildren: Danielle Smith (Travis), Megan Hunter (Thomas), Cristin Davis (Jesse) and Matthew Winters and fiancee, Emily; grandchildren: T.J., Danica and Laura Smith and Remi, Finnley, Levi and Travis Hunter, Everett and Savannah Davis and Lila and Harland Winters; a sister, Mary Francis David (Mike); nieces, Michaela Chamberlain (Justin) and Mallory Becerra (Jesse); and great-nieces and nephews: Lennon and Calvin Chamberlain and Quinn, Cora and Jude Becerra.
Robert was a 1973 graduate of Altoona Area High School. After high school, he served in the U. S. Army from 1973 to 1976. He was employed as a pipefitter and welder for the Altoona Railroad for over thirty years until his retirement. He was a member of the Blair County Game, Fish and Forestry Association Inc., where he enjoyed shooting guns, especially his M1 Garands.
He was also especially proud of his Ford Mustang.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto Reste Park, Altoona. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024, at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood with full military honors conducted by the Blair County Honor Guard.
