Robert V. Boyer, 76, Ebensburg, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Willard and Doris (Lindemer) Boyer.
He is survived by a son, Ron (Thelma) Dibble; a daughter, Lillian (Michael) Storey; three grandchildren: Michael Storey Jr., Jennifer (Cory) Shoff and Ronald Dibble; two great-grandchildren, Conor and Margaret Shoff; a brother, Willard Boyer; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Boyer.
Robert was an Altoona High graduate and joined the United States Air Force, where he served as a Staff Sergeant during Vietnam.
He worked at Boyer Candy Co. and later worked in plumbing and maintenance for the United States Department of Agriculture.
Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to travel and contribute to many charities. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He was a member of the VFW and American Legion of Altoona.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at Santella Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, at the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Pepper officiating. Committal will follow at Blair Memorial Park.
