Vance Conrad Blair, 54, of Altoona, died Tuesday evening at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, a son of Janice M. (Conrad) Blair and the late Edward V. Blair.
Surviving are his mother, Janice; two cousins, Ann M. Gedmark of Anchorage, Alaska, and Mary E. Howe of Northfield, Minn.; and a close friend, Heather Gottshall.
Vance was a 1987 graduate of Altoona Area High School and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was formerly employed in sales in Florida and in the import/export business in Pittsburgh.
Vance also helped design computer labs for NASA while in Florida before returning home to help care for his mother.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed snowboarding and walking his dog out in nature.
Friends will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Randy Willis officiating.
