Paul H. Link, 93, Cresson, passed away Friday at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Ebensburg, son of the late T. Gordon and Gladys (Yingling) Link.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pheobe (Hines) Link; son-in-law, Tim Fincham; and brothers: Thomas, Joseph and Pete Link.
Surviving are daughters, Alisa Henrich and husband, Rick, and Amy Finchman; five grandchildren: Alexander (Erin), Michaela (Phillip), Oliva (Samuel), Suzanne and Morgan (Eli); five great-grandchildren; special friends, Catherine Iapalucci and Alice Lee; and caregivers: Michelle Casado, Alyssa Delegram and Yvonne Galan.
Paul was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. While in the Air Force, he served as a clerk typist, teletypist and administrative supervisor. He received the Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
After his time in the service, Paul went to the State Teachers College in Shippensburg, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1961. He then received his master's degree in education from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind.
Paul started his teaching career at Cresson Joint High School. He taught typing, shorthand and business English. While teaching at Penn Cambria, he served as the senior class advisor, FBLA advisor and the athletic director. After more than 35 years of teaching at Penn Cambria High School, he retired in 1993. He also taught keyboarding at Mount Aloysius Junior College.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with the Rev. Leo Arnone as celebrant. Private burial will take place at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery.
