Stephen J. "Papa Bear" "Papa" "Keggar" Parshall, 54, of Antis Township, died unexpectedly at UPMC Altoona, after a brief illness. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Curtis and Nadean (McCaulley) Parshall.
Surviving are his son, Charles C.; brothers: Glenn and Thomas Parshall, Danny Isenberg, Russ Reynolds and John Rhodes; sisters: Joy Beth Hunter, Jenn Breunig and Daryla Clark; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy L. Abrams; and brother, Ron Blazier.
Stephen was employed as a screening room operator at Vitro Glass Manufacturing, Tipton.
He was a member of Blair County Game, Fish and Forestry Association, United Veterans Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bellwood, and Newburg Volunteer Fire Department.
Stephen loved traveling, long drives and road trips with his son, Charlie. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hiking on Rails to Trails and exploring nature, especially the Pennsylvania overlooks, mountain lakes and ponds. Stephen was a gun enthusiast and collector and also enjoyed cars. He loved living life to the fullest and spending time with his son and family.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Pastor Terry Farr officiating.
