Elizabeth A. ‘Betty’ Dobbins

Betty married Charles A. “Brud” Dobbins on Oct. 23, 1952, in Altoona. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2012.

Surviving are her son and his wife, Dr. Dennis Dobbins, DMD, and Kathy of Hollidaysburg; five grandchildren: Brian Weise (Nicole), Colleen Weise, Patrick Dobbins (Kristine), Katie Dobbins (fiance, Corey Homer) and Ryan Dobbins; five great-grandchildren: Ryder and Hudson Weise and Quinn, Madigan and Conor Dobbins; son-in-law, Michael Weise; two sisters-in-law, Frieda Conrad and Barb Dobbins; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Weise, on Sept. 24, 2023; her brothers: Richard “Dick,” Anthony “Bill,” Robert, Thomas, Earl, Ralph and John Conrad; and sisters: Pauline McIntire, Pearl Nagle, Rita Mack and Theresa Edmonds.

Betty was a graduate of Altoona High School and had retired from Warnaco after 35 years of service.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Betty was an avid supporter of The ARC of Blair County who loved to read and enjoyed shopping. She was a woman of great faith and had a wonderful sense of humor. Betty loved her cat, Mia, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Father James Dugan. Committal will be held at St. Monica’s Cemetery, Chest Springs, Pa.
