Julie Mae (Haid) Frederick, 65, Altoona, passed away Thursday in Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Julie V. and Frank Chalmers Haid.
Family meant everything to Julie. She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Kenneth Frederick of Altoona; her children: Carrie, Kenneth and Toni of Altoona and William of Elkin, N.C.; and her grandchildren: Julian, Jacqueline, Haiden, Mason and Lochlan, who will miss her smiles and love greatly. She is also survived by her brothers, Frank of Las Vegas, Nev., and Herb of Charleston, S.C.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved and always tried to keep track of.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Haid.
Julie was a loving and caring individual who dedicated her life to helping others. She worked for many years as a bus driver and class aide at Child Advocates Head Start, where she touched the lives of countless children. Additionally, Julie worked as a certified nursing assistant, providing heartfelt care to all her patients.
In her free time, she enjoyed reading and creating her own stories. She had a passion for storytelling and was always eager to share her imaginative tales. Julie's love for her family knew no bounds and she selflessly gave her heart to anyone in need.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Altoona, where she was baptized. She found solace and strength in her religious beliefs.
A memorial service and celebration of Julie's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, at Champion Life Church. Following the service, a luncheon will be held to honor Julie's memory.
Julie Mae Frederick will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched. Her kind heart, unwavering dedication and loving spirit will forever be remembered.
