David Donato Lepore

David Donato Lepore, 87, Altoona, passed away Saturday at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Altoona, son of the late David Sr. and Angelina (Mirabella) Lepore.

On March 3, 1956, he was united in marriage to the former Joyce (Burget) Lepore.

Along with his wife of 67 years, he is survived by daughters, Piper Wisniewski and her husband, Ed, of Reading, Pa., and Penny Fabri of Altoona; grandchildren: Brandy Hummel and her husband, Erik; Kristen Wisniewski and her partner, Melvin; Brian Wisniewski; Edward Wisniewski and his fiancee, Niki; Nick Wisniewski and his wife, Cassie; Daniel Dick; and Matthew Lepore and his wife, MaryAnne; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Raymond and Betty; sister-in-law, Marge Burget; special niece, Angie Lepore; and a host of relatives and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew David Dick; siblings: Vernon, Danny, Frank, Ernest, Mike, Chester, Louie, Gene, Anna, Robert, Mary “Donna” and Shirley; and brother-in-law, Bill Burget.

In his early years, Dave worked as a carpenter and later as a salesman for the Liggett Group.

He was a member of Altoona Assembly of God Church and in recent years attended Center City Church in Altoona.

David enjoyed woodworking and was a skilled wood carver. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, dancing and watching the Steelers on TV.

He adored his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Friends will be received from 2 until the 4 p.m. funeral service Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona, with Pastor Brian Detwiler and Mr. Steven Dugas officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.

If friends so desire, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made in memory of David to John’s Way Medical Equipment Ministry, 137 Church Hill Lane, Martinsburg, PA 16662.
