David V. Colmer, 61, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Altoona, passed away Sunday. He was the beloved son of the late John and Rosemary (Nolan) Colmer.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Anita.
Surviving are his three children: Jared Colmer (Carla) of Mars, Pa., Ryan Colmer (Katie) of York, Pa., and Lauryn Hehr (Brian) of Fort Myers, Fla.; his former wife, Maria (Ellis) Colmer of Fort Myers, Fla.; five cherished grandchildren: Brayden, Carter, Palmer, Caden and Monroe; six grand-pups; four siblings: John, Theresa (Frank), Deanna (Steve) and Gilbert (Pam); and many nieces and nephews.
Dave graduated from Towson State with a bachelor's degree. He was an active tennis player and enjoyed spending time with his fraternity brothers.
His professional journey took him on a fulfilling path, traveling the world. Dave dedicated over 15 years of his career to Fry Metals, Altoona. Most recently, he worked as a reclaims manager for AIM Solder in Montreal, Canada, where he excelled in buying precious metals.
Dave's greatest passion in life was his family. He worked very hard to provide his family with the best life. He was his children's biggest advocate for sports, always pushing them to do better. He treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, and their love brought him so much happiness. Dave's support and unconditional love created a strong foundation for his family.
When Dave wasn't working or with family, he found enjoyment in his love for sports, especially golf. He was an active member of the Park Hills Golf Club in Altoona and embraced the camaraderie shared with his fellow golfing and card buddies. In recent years, Dave was a member of Heritage Palms Country Club in Fort Myers, where he enjoyed tiki bar days with all his friends and family.
Dave's joy in life was always his family and, in most recent years, his grandkids.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
A celebration of life will take place at another time in Florida.
A private burial will take place at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
