It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Ann Glass, who passed away April 17, 2023, in Harrisburg at the age of 89. She was born in Roaring Spring to Orville and Margaret (Blattenberger) Myers.
Lois was raised in Roaring Spring and was a longtime, active community member. She graduated from Roaring Spring High School in 1951. She was a former employee at D. M. Bare Paper Company before moving to Time Warner Cable, where she was the office manager. After 17 years at Time Warner, Lois left to become the secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church in Roaring Spring. She remained there until her retirement in 2005.
In addition to working at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lois was also an active church member and former member of the church choir. She was also a former member of the Roaring Spring Junior Women's Club, the Roaring Spring chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Roaring Spring Borough Council and the Spring Cove School Board.
Lois married William Q. Glass on Aug. 29, 1952. Together they had two sons, Jeffrey (Lorri) Glass of York Haven and Jon David Glass of Plant City, Fla.; four grandchildren: Eowyn (Adam) Durham of Halifax, Pa., Cpt. Evan (Alexis) Glass of the Army Defense Language Institute in Monterey, Calif., and William and Zachary Glass, both of Plant City, Fla.; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition, Lois is survived by sisters-in-law, Nancy Dionisio and Dolly Glass, both of Roaring Spring.
She is enjoying a heavenly reunion with her parents, her beloved husband and her siblings: Vance Myers, Opal Bowers and Peggy Steele.
A memorial service is scheduled for Lois at 2 p.m. May 20, 2023, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Roaring Spring. Interment will be at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roaring Spring.
