William "Bill" Grant Orr, 68, formerly of Altoona, passed away March 24, 2023. He was a son of the late Thomas and Betsy (Stevens) Orr.
He was a 1973 graduate of Altoona Area High School, and later earned a degree in criminal justice. He played golf professionally on the semi-professional tour, and later went on to become an ordained minister and led a recovery ministry called Celebrate Freedom.
Bill had a special gift of encouragement that touched many lives. He was able to use his personal experience with recovery to help others find healing through Jesus Christ.
He enjoyed boating, fishing and golfing. Bill loved spending time with his family and cherished every moment with them.
Bill was also preceded in death by sisters, Helen Boguszewski and Katie Fairley.
Surviving are his wife, Pam; a daughter, Ashley (Bowen); a grandchild; sisters: Becky (Tom) DeHaven, Janice Orr (Gary Sacks) and Patty (Leonard) Topley; a brother, Thomas C. (Maryann) Orr; and many nieces and nephews.
