Lou Ann (Campbell) Clary

March 1, 1947 – March 4, 2023

Clary

Lou Ann (Campbell) Clary, 76, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday. She lost her battle with pancreatic cancer, but won the war as she joins her fellow angels in Heaven. She was born in DuBois, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Griffith) Campbell.

Lou Ann graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1965 and earned her Bachelor of Arts from Westminster College.

She began her career as an elementary school teacher before devoting herself full-time to motherhood and homemaking.

Lou Ann was a Young Life leader, an active volunteer with Zion Lutheran and First United Methodist Churches, Women’s Club, the Lutheran Home and the YMCA. She retired from the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA in 2017.

She made friends everywhere she went and was ever the nurturer, making sure everyone was warm and well-fed. She always made everyone feel special, putting lipstick on the ladies at the nursing home, bringing homemade soup to friends in need and, even in her last days, stopping the nurses to thank them. She was and still is an angel among us.

Lou Ann is survived by her loving husband, David Scott Clary; their crazy pup, Stormy; her brother, William Campbell, and his wife, Margie; and a nephew, Bruce Campbell, and his family.

She was preceded in death by her dear niece, Wendy Campbell.

Lou Ann was the loving mother of Pam (Webber) Mitchell and her husband, Scott; Bradley Webber and his wife, Brandy; and Alison (Webber) McLaughlin and her husband, Jeramie; and the proud Mimi of Jaden and Macey Mitchell, Sierra and Shaelyn Webber and Mavis McLaughlin.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at First United Methodist Church, 801 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hollidaysburg Area Public Library, 1 Furnace Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648; or Young Life (giving.younglife.org/centralpayounglife).
