Father Ivan M. Lebar, TOR, 91, a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Third Order Regular, Province of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, died Wednesday at Saint Francis Friary, Loretto. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Ivan A. and Magdalene (Kramar).
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ivan Jr. and Stephen; and two sisters, Martha (Bukovec) and Margaret (Stahlinecker).
Surviving are his nieces: Joanne (Lebar) Rozic, Karen (Lebar) Ehrbar, Frances (Lebar) Kent; and a nephew, Michael Bukovec; as well as their spouses, grand-nieces and nephews; and his Franciscan Community.
Friends will be received from 4 until the 7 p.m. Vigil Prayer Service on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at Saint Francis Friary at Mount Assisi in Loretto.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at St. Francis Friary at Mount Assisi with the Very Rev. Joseph Lehman, TOR, Minister Provincial as principal celebrant. Following the Mass, interment will take place at the Franciscan Friars' Cemetery on the campus of Saint Francis University, Loretto.
