Edward G. Baker Sr., 84, Altoona, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, at Guardian Healthcare, Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Francis P. and Loretta A. (Blake) Baker.
He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Paul Lauver; and brothers, John and Frank Baker.
Surviving is his wife, Catherine L. (Soult); sons: Edward Baker Jr. and his fiancee, Linda, Richard Lauver, Gary Baker and Thomas Wiesinger, all of Altoona; daughters, Jeannie Laughlin and her fiance, Bill, of Fallentimber and Lorelei Baker of State College; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ed attended Altoona High School.
He served his country in the United States Army.
Ed enjoyed spending time at Canoe Creek State Park with his friends and family.
Friends and family will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. service Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home, 1222 13th Ave., Altoona, with Sara J. Newman, officiant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project; or the American Cancer Society.
