James E. Sechrist

James E. Sechrist, 60, of Tyrone, died Wednesday at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Tyrone, a son of the late Clarence R. and Martha A. (Closson) Sechrist.
He was married June 27, 1987, at Tyrone Alliance Church to Lois E. Friday.
Surviving are his wife of Tyrone; a son, Nathan Sechrist; a brother, George Sechrist of Tyrone; and a sister, Sue Bongiorno of Charleroi, Pa.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Julie Ann Sechrist; a sister, Grace Lewis; and a brother, Tom Sechrist.
James was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School in 1979. He was also a member of the Huntingdon Gun Club Inc. He always enjoyed hunting, farming and finishing work in carpentry.
Over the years, he was employed at Chicago Rivet Co., Karl Nordblom Construction, George F. Seiner Trucking, DeGol Brothers Lumber, and had been self-employed at J.S. Construction. In 1992, he was hired as Director of Construction for DelGrosso Foods.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at noon Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, with the Rev. Carl A. Schmidt Sr. officiating.
