Deborah Ann ‘Debbie’ (Stevens) Koenig

Dec. 26, 1956 – March 22, 2022

Deborah Ann "Debbie" (Stevens) Koenig, 65, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday morning at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles S. and Louise C. (Brown) Stevens.

On May 8, 2000, she married Martin Paul "Marty" Koenig in Jamaica. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 2018.

Surviving are two sons, Aaron D. Frank (Angela) and Adam J. Frank (Ashlee), both of Hollidaysburg; a stepson, Mark W. Koenig (Carrie) of Odenton, Md.; a stepdaughter, Ashley M. Westerburg (Carl Jr.) of Lower Burrell; 10 grandchildren; a brother, John R. Stevens (Josephine) of Lititz; a sister, Barbara L. Grappone (Joseph) of Hollidaysburg; two nieces; a nephew; and many friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by a sister, Patty L. Duffey; and a brother, Scott B. Stevens.

She was a 1975 graduate of Altoona Area High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1979. Debbie retired in September 2016 as an Early Learning Program Certification Representative from the Department of Human Services.

Debbie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed traveling, gardening and ancestry research. She loved surrounding herself with her children and spending equal time with her 10 grandchildren, they were the most important part of her life.

The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Grane Hospice Care, Altoona.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 until 4 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the Fiore Farm, 2961 Reservoir Road, Hollidaysburg. All family and friends are welcome. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
