Donald D. Imes, age 92, of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning at his residence. He was born in Somerset County, son of the late Chalmer M. and Alice E. (Morgan) Imes.

He married Margaret I. Myers on Sept. 24, 1948, in Fredrick County, Va. She preceded him in death on July 19, 2000, after 52 years of marriage.

Surviving are four children: G. Michael Imes (Nancy) of Martinsburg, David D. Imes (Janet) of Roaring Spring, Ann M. Imes of Pittsburgh and Gregory L. Imes (Martha) of New Holland; six grandchildren: Christine M. Gojmerac (Chuck) of Roaring Spring, Aimee Jo Stoltz of Martinsburg, Kevin L. Imes (Lauren) of Palmyra, Matthew D. Imes (Shelly) of Martinsburg, Katie R. Cirilo (Angel) of Leola and Gretchen A. Eck (Gordie) of Lancaster; 12 great-

grandchildren; and a brother, Paul I. Imes (Jane) of Martinsburg.

Donald attended Taylor Township Schools and was a 1946 graduate of Morrison Cove High School.

He retired from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. in 1993 as manager of the black-top division after 42 years of service.

Donald enjoyed traveling, reading, southern gospel music and lawn care work for his family and friends. After retirement, he was active in volunteer work with the Claysburg Food Bank, American Red Cross Blood Mobile and the Morrison Cove Park.

He was a member and past president of the New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Quarter Century Club, a member and past president of the Morrison Cove Rotary and a 60-year member of the Woodbury Lodge F&AM. Donald was also a former member of the American Society of Highway Engineers and a former member of the Pennsylvania Asphalt Paving Association.

Donald attended Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church.

At the wishes of the deceased, there will be no viewing. A private memorial service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
