Ruby Lynn (Chelednik) Moore, 69, of Portage, passed away Monday at Memorial Medical Center in the presence of her husband, daughter, son, and four grandsons. She was born in Johnstown, daughter of Rudy and Veronica (Sulik) Chelednik.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Wendy Chelednik; and sister-in-law, Nancy Chelednik.
Surviving are her loving husband of 44 years, Ned Moore Jr.; a son, Ned Moore III and daughter, Emily (Shane) Crusey. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren: Nathan and Hunter Moore, and Grayson and Nolan Crusey; and brothers, Edmund (Clyde) Chelednik and wife, Barb and Dan Chelednik.
She was a 1969 graduate of Portage Area High School and then attended Cambria Rowe Business School. Ruby then worked in Washington, D.C., for the FAA, Social Security in Johnstown, Federal Bureau of Prisons in Loretto, National Park Service at the Lemon House, and retired from the Department of Defense. She also served as Portage Township secretary for six years.
Ruby was an avid flower gardener who also enjoyed shopping way too much, going to camp in Potter County, going to the beach and hanging out with her cousins, friends and her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021, at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage, where funeral services will be held at
11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, with Father James Spontak officiating. Committal will be in St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Wilmore.
