Daniel R. Shade

Daniel R. Shade, 60, of Altoona, passed away Saturday at Pennknoll Village after a brief illness. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Ronald and Mary (Dougherty) Shade.
Daniel is survived by his daughters: Hillary Heilman of San Diego, Calif., and Emily Shade (Stephanie Cataldo) of Pittsburgh; his mother, Mary Shade of Altoona; a sister, Dana Shade (Janice Penrod) of Bedford; a special nephew, Ethan Howell; and numerous cousins and aunt and uncles.
He was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and of Penn State University.
Daniel was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
