Richard Donald Bollman, 88, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday. He was born in Everett, a son of the late Meryl D. Bollman and Nettie M. (Bennett) Bollman.
On June 25, 1955, in Winchester, Va., he married Ella M. (Klotz) Bollman, who passed away May 23, 2019.
Richard is survived by his children: Roger L. Bollman and wife, Virginia (Whitsel), of Hollidaysburg, Debra A. Dey and husband, Steve, of Altoona, Tom E. Bollman and wife, Sue (Eckenrod), of Lakemont, Margaret "Peg" Blackie and husband, Gearge, of Altoona; and a brother, Marlin "Pete" Bollman and wife, Dorothy, of Everett. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many loving great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in passing by two sisters, Shirley J. Bollman and an infant sister; and six brothers: Billy, Paul, Albert, Melvin, Bobby and Vernon Bollman.
After attending school, he worked at New Enterprise Stone and Lime, where he drove truck for four years.
Richard joined the United States Army in January 1953, where he served as part of the Korean Military Advisory Group. He helped train and provide logistic support for the Republic of Korea Army.
Richard worked as a head mechanic for many years for PennDOT until his retirement.
Richard enjoyed using the equipment while working on the farm and took great pride in it. He also loved spending time sitting on the porch with his wife.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021, in the chapel at Donelson Funeral Home, Main St., Everett, with the Rev. John Guyer officiating.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at the funeral home, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Thursday, April 1, 2021.
Burial will be held at Ritchey's Cemetery, Everett.
