M. Carolyn Fowkes Ackerman, 77, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Harry and Winifred (Green) Mattern.
Surviving are two daughters: Tracy Lascoli and husband, Mike, Tonya Fowkes and fiance, Mike; two grandchildren: McKenzie and Jordan; four sisters: Wanda Doverspike, Harriet Koelle, Kathie Conrad and Verge Soult.
Carolyn was preceded in death by a son, David; two sisters; and four brothers.
She retired as a home health aide with Home Nursing Agency. Carolyn was a member of Hicks Memorial UMC in Duncansville. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics and bus tours.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation service by Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg.
