Virginia R. ‘Ginny’ Foor

July 27, 1929 – Oct. 22, 2020

Virginia R. “Ginny” Foor, 91, Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Altoona, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, following an extended illness.

Virginia was born in York, daughter of the late Abraham W. and Edith (Ambrose) Harn. She married Kermit P. Foor Sr. on Dec. 16, 1946, in Cumberland, Md. He preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1985.

Surviving are sons: Larry (Michele) Foor of Winter Park, Fla., Lloyd (Carol) Foor of Bellwood, Roger (Linda) Foor of Altoona and Steven (Tracy) Foor of East Freedom; a daughter, Rebecca Foor of Orlando, Fla.; 12 grandchildren: Kermit Foor III, Malcolm Foor, Crystal Clark, Lloyd Bradley Foor, Jennifer Foor, Julie Petrakis, Larry Foor Jr., Roger Foor Jr., Jessica Diehl, Garrett Snyder, Grant Snyder and Steven Zachary Foor; and many great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by a son, Kermit P. Foor Jr.; a sister, Viola Eyers; and brothers: Jim, Sonny and Pete Harn.

She was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church and was a former member of Schum United Methodist Church.

Virginia loved to spend time gardening, making crafts, crocheting and particularly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Per Virginia’s wishes, there will be a private funeral service held at the convenience of the family, officiated by the Rev. Rebecca Holland.

Interment will be at Ray’s Cove Cemetery in Everett.

The family would like to thank the staff at Homewood at Martinsburg for the great care Virginia received.

In honor of Virginia’s life, the family would request that donations be made to Christ Community United Methodist Church, 5715 Roselawn Ave., Altoona, PA 16602; or to Homewood at Martinsburg, 437 Givler Drive, Martinsburg, PA 16662.
