Clyde E. ‘Pete’ Harn

Clyde E. “Pete” Harn, 84, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday at UPMC Altoona following an extended illness, and is dancing delightfully with him. He was born in Hanover, son of the late Abraham W. and Edith Ellen (Ambrose) Harn.
Pete is survived by his loving wife, Helena M. (Shaffer), whom he married on June 15, 1963; three daughters: Wendy (Ed) Nyiri, Holly (Terry) Garman and Mary Joy (Brad) Petrunak; four sons: Dan (Patti), Tim, Scott and Aaron Harn; eight grandchildren: Ashley Harn, Cassandra Fink, Kyle Nyiri, Martina Doran, Terry “Buddy” Garman, Jade Petrunak, Dan Harn Jr. and Summer Over; 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters; a sister, Virginia Foor; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Viola Eyers; and by two brothers, Jim and Sonny Harn.
Pete was an avid hunter and enjoyed roller skating, woodworking, puzzles and word searches. He was a member of the Altoona Full Gospel Church and was employed as a baker at Marhofer Bakery. He retired from McCartney’s as an installer. Pete served in the U.S. Army from 1956-59.
Family and friends will be received from 1 until the 2:30 p.m. funeral service on Saturday Aug. 15, 2020, at the Altoona Full Gospel Church, Lakemont, with Pastor Ron Campbell officiating. Interment will take place in Alto Reste Park Cemetery. Arrangements are with The Good Funeral Home Inc.
