Anthony D. “Tony” Branda

June 21, 1948 – Aug. 14, 2019

Anthony D. "Tony" Branda, 71, of Altoona, passed away peacefully Wednesday at his residence after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Dominick "Doc" Branda and YoLanda Raia. On Sept. 29, 1973, he married Judy C. Woodcock in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife, Judy, of Altoona; a son, Anthony D. Branda II of Altoona; a sister, MaryJane Fanelli and husband, Daniel, of Altoona; father-in-law, J. Sidney Woodcock Jr.; brothers-in-law, Steve Woodcock and wife, Josie, and Curt Woodcock and wife, Judy; nieces and nephews: Nikki, Travis, Cory, Stevie, Tyler and Amelia; great-nieces and great-nephew: Macy, Laney, Addie and Sammy; and his second family at Branda Performance: Karl, Chrissy, Milt, Randy, Mike, Josh and Tim.

Tony attended Trans4mation Church in Altoona and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Spc. 4th Class during the Vietnam War.

Tony was the owner and president of Branda Performance Inc. in Altoona and former co-owner with his wife, Judy, of the Meadows of Greenwood.

He was a member of A & J Iaia Post, American Legion, Sons of Italy, Buccinese Society, Mustang Club of America, Shelby American Automotive Club and Antique Automobile Club of America.

Tony started his Mustang and Shelby business selling parts and T-shirts from the trunk of his car at swap meets with his wife, Judy. His love of Mustangs and Shelbys enabled him to grow into a worldwide business and also fueled his passion for collecting cars and memorabilia.

Friends will be received from from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at Anthony P. Scaglione Funeral Home. Funeral services for Tony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, at Trans4mation Church, 1001 S. First St., Altoona by Pastor Jim Balzano. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
