Nichole M. (Alexander) Thrower

She was born in Johnstown, daughter of Richard and Linda (Nolan) Alexander.

Nichole was married for 21 years to her best friend, Erik Thrower; and was a loving mother to Nicholas, Erika and Ian, all at home. She is also survived by her parents; two siblings: a sister, Kerri, and brother, Rick, all of Portage; her parents-in-law, Layton “Cupp” and Lorraine Thrower; a brother-in-law, Greg (Cathy) Thrower, all of Portage; and her nephews and nieces: Corey (Tara), Kayla, Abby, Tyler, Ashlyn, Bradyn and Madisyn.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and a nephew, Trea Alexander.

Nikki was able to fulfill her childhood dream when she received her nursing degree from Mt. Aloysius College. She loved her profession from her first patient until her last position as a nursing supervisor at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

Nikki’s family was foremost in her life — supporting and cheering on Nick in his band endeavors, Erika in dance and Ian as a “football mom.” She was an avid reader.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Father Thomas Stabile, T.O.R, celebrant. Committal will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963.
