Craig C. Campbell, 55, Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday evening at UPMC Shadyside Pittsburgh, after an extensive battle with leukemia.
He was born in Altoona, son of Willard E. Campbell and the late Donna M. (Shinafelt) Campbell. On April 2, 2011, he married Christine Glidden at First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are his wife, Christine of Hollidaysburg; two sons: Ian (Eve) Campbell of Duncansville, and Alexander Campbell of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Samantha Campbell of Chicago, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Krista Deshong of Altoona; eight grandchildren; his father, Bill, and stepmother, Nancy Campbell, of Hollidaysburg; two sisters: Krista (Dave) Soellner and Billie Jo (Jason) Walls, both of Hollidaysburg; a stepbrother, John (Rhonda) Brown of Duncansville; a stepsister, Cynthia (Tom) Smith of Hollidaysburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Craig was a 1980 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and a graduate of Greensburg Technical School. For more than
30 years, he worked as an engineering draftsman for Hoss's Steak & Sea House.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg. He was a board member for the National FFA Foundation and was also active in the Pennsylvania Bowlers Association. He served as an ambassador for the Blair County Unit of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. He enjoyed golf and spending time with his family and friends.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, Pastor Grace Marie Ransom officiating. Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.
At the family's request, memorial donations in Craig's memory may be made to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, UPMC Cancer Pavilion Suite 1B, Pittsburgh, PA 15232, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
