Jean Marjorie (Luse) Coyle

Jean Marjorie (Luse) Coyle, 88, Bedford, Texas, went to be with her Lord on Friday after a battle with cancer.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Matthew and Eleanor (Davis) Luse.

After graduating West Philadelphia High in 1946, she married John Coyle, becoming a 22-year “camp follower” in the Army. They were married 67 years and had two daughters: Andi and Molly.

She was preceded in death by husband, John Coyle, in 2014; a daughter, Andi Coyle, in 1979; and a brother, Glen “Bud” Luse, in 2008.

Jean volunteered in many capacities while being an Army wife: swimming teacher in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Girl Scouts Commander in Pirmasens, Germany, and “Grey Lady” in multiple military hospitals, assisting doctors and nurses. She received the Spirit of El Paso Award for her Zoo docent volunteerism. Her passion was her art, and she was very active in the Hondo Art League prior to moving to Bedford in 2010.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Message Church, 2009 Highway 121, Bedford, Texas.
