Francis R. ‘Peteay’ Kunsman Jr.

He was born in Gallitzin, son of the late Francis R. Sr. and Beatrice (Merlini) Kunsman.

Surviving are three sisters: Mary “Punkin” (Larry) Pettenati of Coupon, Nancy (David) Holliday of Gallitzin and Sherri (Bruce) Costello of Ashville; a step-grandson, Ricky Simmers Jr. of Glasgow; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, on Sept. 27, 1994; a stepson, Ricky Simmers; a step-grandson, Tony Rutherford; a brother, Robert Kunsman; and two sisters: Ida Harris and infant Shirley.

Peteay was a life member of Loyal Order of Moose 185, Gallitzin, where he served as governor. He enjoyed the Dodgers, hunting, fishing, playing pool, pinochle, bowling and his dog, Hollywood Noah. He was a member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held on Friday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux as celebrant. Committal will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.

The family requests that donations in Peteay’s memory be made to Loyal Order of Moose 185, 625 Main St., Gallitzin, PA 16641.
