Joyce Ann Jordan, 64, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Robert F. McConnell and the late Betty I. (Franco) McConnell. She married Eric Jordan in 1998 and he passed away in 2013. She was formerly married to Kenneth Tromm, who survives in Bunker Hill, W.Va.
Surviving are her father; two sons: Matthew L. Tromm of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Andrew M. Tromm of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; three grandchildren: Bradley, Halyn and Brekken; two sisters: Julia M. Fochler (Ray) of Altoona and Lori A. Elgin (Jim) of Hoover, Ala.; a brother, Robert R. McConnell (Beverly) of Altoona; two nieces: Shelly McConnell and Kristy Brennan; and four nephews: Danny and Joe McConnell, Ryan Fochler and Scott Elgin.
Joyce graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle High School in 1969 and began her banking career at Mid-State Bank, Altoona, before marrying and moving to Alexandria, Va. She then worked at United Virginia Bank at various northern Virginia locations in a variety of positions before retiring as a vice president and loan officer to raise her children.
Joyce was an active bowler in northern Virginia and continued bowling when she moved back to Altoona, where she eventually worked in administration at Holiday Bowl and coordinated leagues, primarily children’s leagues. She loved teaching and enjoyed the young bowlers’ successes. Joyce also enjoyed bingo and playing cards with her friends. She will be greatly missed by her loving family, friends and all who knew her.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Stevens Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Tony Conrad officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
